Finding Solutions For Complex Waste Disposal Problems.
|
Nuisance tire piles pose severe health threats that endanger the public and the environment in 3 distinct ways. First, they are perfect for tiger mosquitoes and other insects to lay their larvae. Mosquitoes need water to do this and a tremendous amount of water collects in these tires. The problem worsens if the tires are near wetlands or rivers. Preventative maintenance of the tire piles save taxpayer dollars because counites don't have to spend quite as much to reduce mosquitoe infestations. Also, reduces the toxic effect of deadly insecticides used to control mosquitoes. Second, tires pollute our woodlands, wetlands, and estuaries, especially causing probelms with flood prone areas that have poor drainage. Thirdly, tires pose the risk of fire and when they burn they release toxic gasses that further pollute our atmosphere. Also, tires have a high creosote temperature and it takes a long time for the fire to burn out. Our aim is to see that illegal tire burning is replaced by utilizing our services which are environmentally responsible and cost effective when weighed in comparison to hefty EPA fines. Fines are imposed upon people who burn tires or dump them illegally. Our services are also available to people who are currently under a deadline to comply with EPA guidelines for nuisance tire pile cleanup. We try, to the best of our ability, to return the land to a more natural state, free of unsightly tires. We take great pride in helping the environment, rather than harming it.
