Hemingford Ledger Photo..This is quite a wheat story.

Hot weather and ready wheat brought custom cutters to their knees. Seven hour lines flared tempers. Police were breaking up fights and directing traffic. "Too bad there aren't lines like this at the grocery store to buy bread", one trucker from Oklahoma said.

Two million bushels in nine days. This is an all time record. One wheat farmer had 8 semis in line at one time. "Can you imagine waiting in line 7 hours to unload?", he said.

This Hemingford Ledger shot was from the top of the grain elevator looking south.

What a great photo. Thank you Brian from the Hemingford Ledger."This line extended south out of the picture", Brian said. "You can't see the line going east and west, but it went clear through town (nearly a mile in length).Click for photo enlargement.
