"These Times"

Words and music by Rick Richardson
Written in the late 70s or early 80s.
About a few of the problems at that time.

Hey there ladies, wearin' animals heard the news?
Minks and sables they are few
Hey there cowboy, with the alligator boots
They've got family just like you

Mr. soldier, why did you get blown away
Such a price you had to pay
Mr. killer, why weren't you locked up today?
You must work for the C.I.A.

Well only the strong survive, it's dog eat dog in these times
Yes it's eye for an eye, you're right if you're wrong in these times

Mr. dealer, givin' kids candy on the street
Trick or treat now it's not free
Mr. bigot, you close your eyes so you can't see
You can't bear the reality

It's everywhere rain or shine, you can't get away from these times
How do we make it through, how did we get to these times?
These are the facts of life, these are the signs of these times
Free to be born and die, are the only rights in these times
You can get awful mad, you can be sad in these times
Money and greed are king, who'd wanna linger in these times

Mr. rich evangelist, is that your lover or your wife
How do I find eternal life
He says that is something, that only paying sinners find
So leave a donation thanks goodbye
Mr. politician, with the cutee on your knee
Do you have the time for me
He said it's half past Watergate, and just about quarter to world war three
And lookie here I've got the key

Seems all that pays is crime, only money talks in these times
Gettin' rich by tellin' lies, that's the game we're playin' in these times
These times
These times
These times
These times.
