| Business |
Allah has divided rizq
(provision or livelihood) into ten parts of which nine are to be found in
business and one in other forms of earning. Bohras are, by their very
name, tradesmen, it is in our blood. Hudaat Kiraam have ensured that this
be the way. Youngsters should be given labour work such as carrying stock. Starting at the bottom they should be allowed to make their way up until they reach managerial status. Molana encouraged Mumineen to take up trade or industry and become captains in their fields of enterprise. Business is in our blood. We are Bohras. Our child should get the training of business from his childhood, so that one day he sits on the chair of his father. One should seek Rizk from the sources of Halal. Seeking Rizk has the sawab of jehad. We should not be lazy in the business. Aimmat Tahereen also used to do business. Mansoor Imam was doing business during the era of Imam Qayem. Aqa Maula TUS also advised Mumineen with examples to stay tension free and sleep peacefully at night. (7th Moharram) Top |
| Human and Animal |
Animals have what is called
'kamale thaani' (roughly: the 'second completion'). This means that they
have the knowledge they require to survive from birth. They know what they
can or cannot eat and even an elephant, inspite of its size, if it finds
itself in water it will know how to swim. Animals spend only a short time
with their parents before they become like them. In order to raise a human infant, on the other hand, is like a lump of meat requiring great efforts and toil to care for and for a long period of time. They are like a blank page upon which the lines of aakherat are to be written. (8th Moharram) Top |
| Namaz |
The
hours of the day should be divided into 3; one for worship, one for
earning and the third for recreation. If one were to consider a waking day
as being of fifteen hours this means five hours for worship. At the very
most, if one were to pray with the utmost of care, the five farizat/
sunnat namaaz would take no more than 2 hours leaving a surplus of three
hours. In spite of this we tend to pray without concentration in a manner
that is condemned by Rasulallah's hadith, "The worst of thieves is the one
who thieves in his namaaz." |
| Mumineen like angels | "Ali's matam is taking place in the realm of angels. O' Mumineen you too are like angels. Top |
| Marriage |
Maula
TUS advised mumineen parents and valis to allow their daughter to choose
their life partner freely, after due deliberation with her. Marriages
should be performed only with their wishes and should not be imposed upon
them.(6th Moharram) |
| Knowledge |
Knowledge rules whilst
wealth is ruled over - it is only natural. The very foundation of Dawat is
based on true knowledge. Some people say that hudaat kiraam do not approve
of knowledge or, even further, that they are the enemies of knowledge. In
the Ikhwaan-ul-Safaa it is written that our ilm subjugates all other
knowledge and we have no enmity to any form of knowledge. It is not possible to know everything, someone who tries to do so will find that they miss out on it all. It is necessary to create fields of knowledge in the world today. This has been done but in doing so a great many things that are not required learning have been made compulsory placing an unnecessary burden on the student.
What is knowledge? Knowledge
is 'khayr' in totality. |
| Nabi (SAW) the geographer of universe | To the Nabi SAW, the universe is like a globe for a geographer. Just as the expert geographer can pinpoint all kinds of places on a globe so the Nabi can pinpoint any place in the universe. He is able to tell us about the past and about the future, as much as Allah wishes him to know. Thus, he has the capacity to perform miracles and hold sway over the universe as seen in the miracle of the splitting of the moon (9th Moharram) Top |
| Shariah |
Rasulallah's Shariah is a
code of life - qaanun, a law and order; mankind cannot live without law
and order. Wild animals, lions and the like can survive without law and
order, a lion can roam the jungle killing when it feels like. If man were
to do the same in the cities how many murders would take place every day? The law and order of the Shariah is the ultimate form - encapsulating all the codes found in previous shariahs. Rasulallah, like an accomplished doctor, provides the exact prescription needed for the patient - the right medicine in exactly the right quantity so that the patient heals much faster. This Shariah has been prescribed for use for all time. (6th Moharram) Top |
| Girl's Nikah | Aqamola spoke at length about nikah and particularly with regards to the rights of the daughter. In Islam a nikah can only take place when there is a 'wali' for the bride. The wali (a man usually the father) has been made compulsory to protect the bride from being duped in any way or taken advantage of. In the event that the wali (eg the father) has misgivings about his daughter 's choice of husband he can point out these misgivings and give her time to think it over. If, after this, she still wishes to marry that boy then he should not try to prevent it by refusing to perform the nikah. In such instances the girl has recourse to the qadi (aamil) who should try and convince the parent(s) (or the girl) but, if all has failed, he can then bring in the next wali. If that wali refuses he can bring in the next or the next. If they all refuse then the girl's wali is the qadi. (6th Moharram) Top |
| Woman | Just as a man is human so too is a woman. Some people say that women are inferior to men but women have many facets that men do not have. Without women there would be no children, a man only provides the nutfah - it is the woman that carries the child to term. Men should care for their women - not treat them as cooks and cleaners. A strong woman may bear with being abused but in her heart she will be affected and this in turn will lead to ill health. She should be treated like perfume; because of her is the propagation of our race. (6th Moharram) Top |
| Aqamola's gift to Mumineen | Aqamola prayed for the barakat of Mumineen. So much barakat that others envy us - barakat that is Aqamola's own barakat; "One part for myself and the other sixty-nine parts for you. (5th Moharram) Top |
| Islam |
Today's 3rd waaz mubarak
of Ashara Mubaraka 1424H began by explaining the link between Ibrahim nabi
(a.s.) and Mohammed Rasulallah (s.a.w). Mohammed's people are Ibrahim 's
people and his Shariah is based on Ibrahim nabi's shariah. (4th Moharram) Beginning the waaz, Molana spoke of how the religion of Imam-ul-zamaan (a.s.) is the same as that of his ancestors; Molana Ibrahim, Musa and Eesa nabi (a.s.). There are those who say that Molana Abdul Muttalib (a.s., Rasulallah’s grandfather) was a mushrik (polytheist) but he was upon haq. (5th Moharram) Top |
| Iraq | Molana TUS also spoke of the impending war on Iraq, praying dua for the protection of Muslimeen in the Middle East. Aqamola TUS stated words to the effect that, “In war there is catastrophe and in concord there is freedom from strife.” (5th Moharram) Top |
| Tafseer of Quran |
Speaking on the subject
of tafseer (explanation) of the Quran, Molana TUS related the zikr of Imam
Jafarus Sadiq (a.s) who sent a message to Qalbi - a scholar of his time
who was beginning a thesis on the Quran. The Imam AS sent the question,
"Do you have complete knowledge of the Quran?" When Qalbi heard this
question he lowered his head in embarrassment and answered no. He
subsequently tore up his work and cast it into the sea. Only he who has complete knowledge of the Quran can interpret it or translate it. (4th Moharram) Top |
| Dawat and Jannat |
A human can only be born
if he spends nine months in his mother's womb - anyone that claims to have
been born without having been in the womb needs treatment for mental
illness. Similarly; one cannot hope to enter Jannat without first entering Dawat and giving the misaaq. A human, when he is but a cell in the womb, is a potential human - Dawat is potential jannat. From here one will go into actual Jannat. A Mumin is connected to Allah through the Hablullahil Mamdood. This is a chain with one end in Allah's hand and the other in ours. Like electricity through a wire, spiritual power flows through this chain - the power at one end being the same as at the origin no matter what the distance involved. (4th Moharram) Top |
| Woman and her husband | Molana TUS gave considerable counsel to women in the light of this bayaan urging women to always look out for their husband's needs; it was better for all when she did so. A woman who did not do so or sought to impose her will over her husband would only earn his anger and has only herself to blame if the husband was turning away from her. (4th Moharram) Top |
| Number 9 |
Nine things are very bad
- but coming from nine particular people they are a lot worse: 1. Panic or hysterics - worse from rulers 2. Miserliness - worse from the rich 3. Short temperedness - worse from the learned 4. Childishness - worse from the elderly 5. Severing of relations - worse from those at the forefront of the community 6. Untruthfulness - worse from judges 7. Continual ill health - worse from doctors 8. Foul mouth - worse from women 9. Excitability (in terms of anger) - worse from emperors.(4th Moharram) Top |
| Others and Mumineen | Man, the most supreme form of creation was created of the earth, there are billions of humans on earth today yet we Mumineen are distinct from them. Humanity at large is created of the earth and remain of the earth where as we are created of the earth but bound for the heavens. Heaven awaits a Mumin's arrival in joyful expectation just as a father would await the return of a child. If a person performs ritual worship for his entire life to the extent that his body falls to pieces in the most sacred piece of earth - that which lies between Hajre Aswad and Maqaame Ibrahim - and has no love for Ahle Bayt (a.s.)then his worship is worth nothing. It requires the love of Ahle Bayt, those of Allah's Bayt (Baytullah), to have it accepted. It is a natural part of life that if you have affection or love for someone then you will have love and affection for his family as well. Yet, in Islam its senior figures chose to teach that the Nabi is distinct and his family are separate. Aqamola (tus) exemplified how a Mumin's niyyat is greater than his action through the lives of Panjatan Paak (a.s.). (3rd Moharram) Top |
| Allah's Creation |
The first waaz of Ashara
Mubaraka 1424H began with an explanation of the word "faatir" - one of
Allah's names. The word means creator but is distinct from "khaaliq" which
also means creator in that the Arabic word "fatara" is used when speaking
of creation the beginning - in the first instance. Molana -l-minaam (tus) explained lucidly how Allah's creation is not subject to trial, error and change. Man may try one thing and then another, ironing out flaws in his work until it succeeds but Allah does not. He did not, for example, first create man with one eye or one leg or hand and then subsequently change it. Molana TUS stated that this kind of trial and error is necessary for those who are lacking in prior knowledge therefore needing to experiment in order to learn. Molana told us that "Deene Qayyim" is what we have been created for - for humans to first attain humanity and from there to progress to angelic status. (2nd Moharram) Top |
| Waiting Room |
Speaking of the succession
of Awliyaullah, Molana TUS explained that "La ilaha illallah" is found in
the Quran twice whilst "Mohammedun Rasulallah" is found once. This is
explained as the continuation of imamat before and after Rasulallah -
Molana Abu Talib (a.s.) and Molana Ali (a.s.). Muslimeen can only be considered Muslimeen if they attest to "La ilaha illallah" followed by "Mohammedun Rasulallah" - he cannot be a Muslim just by saying "La ilaha illallah". For a Mumin to be a true Mumin he has to go one step further by adding "Aliyun Waliullah". A Muslim, Molana pointed out, was on the veranda or waiting room outside the room of imaan. This waiting room has furnishings but does not contain the artefacts of deep interest found in the room itself. (2nd Moharram) Top |
| Mumineen like angels | Molana told us that "Deene Qayyim" is what we have been created for - for humans to first attain humanity and from there to progress to angelic status. (2nd Moharram) Top |
| Will of Bawajisaheb to Bawajisaheb | Bawajisaheb has willed that I should never forget a Mumin (9th Moharram) Top |
| Rasulallah Rehmat for all |
Molana recited the Quranic
aayat in which Allah t`aala states that Rasulallah has been sent as rahmat
for all. For Mumineen there is an exclusive proximity to this rahmat for we are the leaves of the tree that is Rasulallah. Whilst the leaves are attached to the tree they are part of the tree and they will remain alive. If they fall from the tree then they are no longer part of the tree and are now just rubbish more suited to burning. Rasulallah's Shariah
is a code of life - qaanun, a law and order; mankind cannot live without
law and order. Wild animals, lions and the like can survive without law
and order, a lion can roam the jungle killing when it feels like. If man
were to do the same in the cities how many murders would take place every
day? |
| vicegerent and not viceregent | He is not a viceregent but a vicegerent much like the Viceroys of British India were in the position of their Queen.(5th Moharram)Top |
| unparalleled gift from father to his ruhani children | Aqamola prayed for the barakat of Mumineen. So much barakat that others envy us - barakat that is Aqamola's own barakat; "One part for myself and the other sixty-nine parts for you."(5th Moharram)Top |
| No labor pain at the time of Imam's birth | Huzurala TUS then explained the Maqam of Ummahat of Aimmat Tahereen. Fatema is the mother of all Imam. Mother of Imam does not have to suffer any pains in the delivery of Imam. Wiladat of Ameerul Mumineen took place in Ka'batullah. His mother was very worried about the coming child as there was no movement. Maulana Abu Taalib advised her to come to Ka'batullah. Doors opened automatically. They went inside. Abu Taalib came out. Some Hur-ul-Een were there to help Fatema. They informed her that she has given birth to a Shahzada, which she had not realised. Maulana Ali was reciting Quran. One of the Hur came outside and gave the good news to Abu Talib. Wiladat was on the Rukhamat Hamrah. Top |
| Safinu | His Dawat is Safinu. It may face the huge tides. But mumineen should sit the safina without any tensions. Mamluko Ale Mohammed is navigating this Safina with the raza of Imamuz Zaman. It is sailing so peacefully as if it is in a pond. It may be like a pond but don't know from where their may be some wind coming in. It is not surprising to have tides in the sea. There may not be the season but wind may come in. (6th Moharram) Top |
| Three type of sins | Imam Jafarus Sadiq AS has shown that there are three types of sin. One between the subject and Allah, one between the subject and the imam and the third amongst the subjects. The Imam has promised to seek forgiveness of both the first two categories; as to the third - this he said was the most difficult. Nevertheless the imam would take the responsibility to settle these sins upon himself. Thus, Molana TUS asked, can we possibly accept that our imam should have to bear the burden of our sins? (10th Moharram) Top |
| Ehsaan of Bawashafiq |
Last night I have prayed for
Mumineen for the forgiveness of your sins and mine. I have prayed for you
but I place a condition; from now on do not sin again. To open the doors of forgiveness near Allah for a Mumin is the work of duaat. I am spreading this dupatta of mine to beseech Allah that He include Mumineen and Muminaat in my every virtuous dua for the duration of my life. (10th Moharram) Top |
| Fever and illness is rehmat of Allah |
Allah punishes you in
this world for your sins so that no sins are left in the hereafter. One
day's fever is forgiveness for a year's worth of sins so one should not
despair - one should be grateful. Stay away from sin, difficulties will stay away from you. (10th Moharram) Top |

May
Allah t`aala grant our beloved Aqa and Mola the strength, health and long,
long life for the zikr, matam and buka of Imam Husain taa qiyamat. |
