Here are samples of our sheep fleeces. Our sheep are Cotswold, Border Leicester Crosses, the wool is soft with nice luster and a medium fineness. There is minimal vegetable matter in the fleeces and they have a low lanolin level. These are great fleeces to spin in the grease!
We shear twice a year so that the fiber can be commercially processed. The locks above the measuring tape are washed and the locks below the tape are unwashed. Samples are taken from the center of the fleece, I try to get a good representation of the average fiber. Please expect some variability within the fleece. Fleeces are available skirted, but unwashed. I have a page of washing directions if you neeed some pointers on getting them cleaned. Fleeces are priced by the pound, plus shipping based on total poundage.
