Ask kids if they want to play a game now days and they'll "book it" straight for the nearest computer and stick in Play Station or any multitude of game videos available today. But, what ever happened to old-fashioned children's games? You never see kids outside playing Kick the Can, Red Rover or Hide and Seek these days. For centuries kids delighted in games; they were an integral part of their physical and psychological development. Over the past few decades, electronic and computer games have all but taken over. Old-fashioned games are in danger of becoming a thing of the past. Although modern computer and electronic games provide some mental stimulation, they don't encourage camaraderie, physical activity, coordination and social interaction as old-fashioned games do. This book contains a collection of old-fashioned games for kids ages two to twelve years old. This collection includes five categories: Outside Games, Car Games, Card Games, Singing Games and Campfire Songs and Party Games. Many of these games stumulate imagination, increase self-confidence and develope memory skills. However, the main object of this book is to generate old-fashioned FUN for kids. With the millenium fast apprroaching, it's time we reinstigate this centuries old tradition of playing forgotten old-fashioned games with today's youth.
