The following information will prove helpful to your experience in using the Nonesuch ice fishing trap.

The mineral oil is used to keep the line from freezing, in addition to being ideal as a lubricant. A small amount on the leg pivots will keep them limber at any temperature.

The spring steel flag can also be wiped with a small amount of mineral oil. This will prevent it from rusting and help keep it's metallic blue appearance.

The end of the flag that hooks onto the shaft elbow can be bent inwards to create more tension between the shaft and the flag.

Avoid putting too much oil where the flag hooks to the shaft. A dry hookup works best.

When adding oil into the anti-freeze tube, you can let a small amount spill onto the outside of the tube, this will facilitate removal of the tube when the ice freezes around the outside of the tube.

A few drops of oil on each side of the shaft at the bearings will keep the shaft running smoothly.

When installing a new line onto the spool make sure that the line is secured around the spool as well as tied into the head of the cotter key.

Your Nonesuch trap will last a long time with the minimum of care.

* Please note that the trap will operate adequately without the use of lubricants.
