Sean was born in Oil City, PA and has maintained a
permanent residence there all of his life.
Growing up he was active in Scouting, obtaining
the rank of Eagle and worked as a Camp Counselor
at Singing Hills Girls Scout Camp for several
years. Also, he was active in The Oilier Marching
Band serving as the Band Manager for seven
years.
He has always been active in the theater,
performing for the first time on stage when he was
5 years old in The Oakland Elementary School's
production of "The Sweet Shop." Since then he has
appeared in or worked on several musicals and
stage productions working with a variety of
theatrical companies, which include; The Pitt
Players at Titusville, The Franklin Civic, The
Pittsburgh Public Theater, The Ashland University
Players, The Solothurner English Theater, The
Berner English Theater, and The Oil City High
School Theater.
After graduating from high school, he spent a year
as an American Field Service Exchange Student in
Switzerland, attending the Kantonschuler there.
Upon his return to the US, he enlisted in the
Navy. He served three years, and was awarded an
Honorable Discharge under Medical Conditions.
Sean returned to Pennsylvania to attend college.
In the course of the next four years, he attended
The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville, The
Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and Ashland
University. He graduated from The Art Institute
with an Associate's Degree in Industrial Design
Technology and from Ashland University with a
Bachelor of Science in Commercial Art.
For most of his life, Sean has been a student of
local history, learning from his Grandparents,
their friends, and other local historians. In
1994, he combined his talent in the art of
reproduction with his love of history to establish
a local reproduction house, Greycloud Studios.
This studio produces museum quality reproductions
for historical reenactors. Currently, its
international client list includes people who
recreate many periods of history including but not
limited to: Mediaeval Europe, Renaissance Europe,
The Spanish Main, The American Revolution, The
French & Indian War, The Civil War, The Great
Mongol Horde, The American Old West, and The
Fantasy Gaming Genres associated with these
eras.
Sean is a skilled Storyteller. His repertoire
includes tales from the Celtic-Irish Tradition,
local Pennsylvania Lore, the Great Oil Boom of the
late 1800's, and a selection of tales to curl the
toes in the middle of night. He has performed this
craft at The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival, The
Old Mill Festival, American Folkways Festival, and
First Night Oil City to name but a few.
He also works with the Venango Museum of Art,
Science, and Industry. This work includes being a
tour guide for the museum and a cast and crew
member of Oil on the Brain, a one hour period show
that details the history of the Pennsylvania Oil
Region.
