Project Help & Tips on Wood
.

SAWING WOOD

Does your wood end up looking like this
after you've just finished sawing it?

Place a block of wood under the wood you want to cut.

DRILLING HOLES

Does this happen to you when you drill a hole?

Place a piece of scrap wood underneath before drilling.

ALIGNING HOLES PERFECTLY

Need to align a hole perfectly?

Use dowel centers by putting them into the already made holes, place your other piece of wood over the dowel centers and press firmly.
This will mark the exact centers of where you should drill.

.
DRILLING HOLES THE SAME DEPTH

Here are a few tips on what to do with your drill bit to get your
hole to that perfect depth.

Choice #1, is a steel stop collar.
This will enable you to drill to a uniform depth every time!
Choice #2, is an elastic wrapped around a drill bit. This should NOT be used as a stopper, it is a mark where you should stop drilling.
Choice #3, is a piece of masking tape. This is also just a way to mark where you should stop drilling and shouldn't  be used as a stopper.
