TWO TONING WITH STAIN

Although two toning can be done on any wooden surface,
I decided to use a napkin ring as an example.

TWO TONING A FLAT SURFACE

For this example, I used a piece of scrap wood that I found laying around. This  technique can be used on any piece of wood
including furniture!

Click on image to see how this can be achieved.

RETOUCHING WATER BASED STAIN

Oooops, you goofed!!!!

Don't worry!
As long as you're using a water based stain, you have nothing
to worry about.
Simply sand it down and reapply your stain.

.
STAINING WITH A GEL WOOD STAIN

Staining with a water based Gel stain is very much like staining with
any other type stain, only there's no mess!
Simply put some to your brush, or a rag and apply to your
wooden piece.
Wipe it down with a paper towel and you're done!
