Hi Alice,
I should of let you paint these paddle
wheels!!! Cause vin and paint don't mix!!! I finished (gave up), sanding
those little buggers and had a dry run to see how they worked. Just fine.
had some time before i had to leave so i thought i'd put a
first coat of paint on them. Should of
gone to work early! Couldn't open the jar of paint, so i got some pliers
to grab the lid, no go. Got some really big pliers, still no go. I put
the jar in the wooden jaws of a screw clamp and grabbed my really
big pliers, the jar just twisted
in the wooden clamp, so i tightened the clamp, Just a little! Wrong! The
jar broke and covered the bench, and my new wooden clamp with paint! Crap!
Well i grabbed my brush and proceeded to spread paint
and glass chips on my paddle wheels. Then
i pushed the remaining paint in a butter tub thing w/ a lid, cleaned my
bench, clamp and brush, and off to work i go. Now to go down and sand off
the glass chips and recoat.
I hope your day got off to a better start!
Vin
Got a jar of paint that just won't
open
no matter how much you try?
Take a regular table knife and bang it's handle
along the rim
of the jar.
This will dent your lid, but don't worry.
It ends up cracking the old paint trapped between
the lid and the jar.
STORING
YOUR PAINT
If you find that your paint is drying up
in the jar before you can use it, try cutting a disk from plastic wrap
or wax paper, just a little smaller than the inside of your can. Place
the paper on top of the finish to help exclude air.
KEEP
PAINT LIDS OPERATING SMOOTHLY
To keep lids on new paint containers operating
smoothly, rub a bit of petroleum Jelly onto the threads. It creates a tight
seal,
and messy lids won't get permanently stuck
