Stars, novae, and supernovae are found in virtually every corner of our universe. White dwarfs, neutron stars, novae, and supernovae occur just about anywhere that stars are found. At the far end the evolutionary scale, Pulsars, Magnetars, Soft Gamma Repeaters, and Gamma Ray Bursters may be the end-game for a few - and perhaps many - of these objects. The descriptions below pick up at the point where the star has just become unstable.
