Menu Item  - Edit

The following menu items are listed: Administrator's List, Administrator's Password, User's Password, Interface Language.

NOTE: ALL users (and administrators) names need to be set up in Windows 98 previously by clicking on:  Start Button / Settings / Control Panel  and double clicking on Users.  Follow the prompts of the User Name Wizard or consult your Windows documentation for instructions on how to set up Users Names.

Administrator's List -
When you click this menu item the window "Administrators" appears and you can Add or Remove an administrator to or from the list. The Administrators have the following privileges over users:

Administrator's Password - use this menu item for setting an Administrator's Password.
An administrator's password is needed:

  1. When someone wants to access to the main configuration window.   They need to enter an Administrator's Password (if they click the menu item "Settings" of the context menu of the "Eye" icon on the System Tray Bar).
  2. When a user tries to log-in to Windows as an administrator they need to enter an Administrator's Password (or a user's Password for an administrator's user name if they have set another password for this user name).

User's Password - use this menu item for setting User's Password. The user's password has the advantage of controlling that particular persons level of access to the resources of the computer.  It is a very important security precaution for every user to have their own personal password and log-in name and to NEVER give their password to anyone else.

Interface Language - use this menu item for choosing the language you would like to use (English, Russian, German).

NOTE : These Administrator's and User's passwords are for Windows Security Officer 98 program only. They are not the same as users log-on  passwords for Windows. These passwords are additional passwords for securely controlling access to the personal computer.  The security of the Windows 95/98 operating system can usually be quite easily breached.  The Windows Security Officer 98 provides very strong security protection to these operating system environments.
